Potty Training Gone WIld!!

I should start by saying this isn't my first potty training rodeo! I have potty trained alot of kids! But Ezra... Oh Ezra has given me a run for my money!! I started working with him a few months after he turned 2 just like I did Ethan. But yet again.. ( when will I ever learn) he is not Ethan!! So after a week of frustration and poop in his hands and on the walls I gave up and lost my sanity! I gave it a few months and decided that he was old enough and smart enough and he was not going to win the next round! Yes its a battle of wills! So I started again on September 3rd. (this is a day that will go down in history!)
Tip#1: Start on a day that you can dedicate all your time to it.
I feel like starting on a saturday is a better day because there isn't anywhere you HAVE to be or anything you HAVE to go do. You don't have to put a diaper on them to go somewhere. You can dedicate your day to focusing on him/her. And yes it takes focus! I made a big effort not to go anywhere I didnt have to for a week other then to school and back for ethan. I would put him on the potty before we left and I put a towel in the carseat in case of an accident. I do not use pull ups. I think it is a waste of money and just confuses them.so far no accidents.. I do not put a diaper on him when he takes his nap eighther. I make sure he goes before he lays down. He has had 2 accidents but we just clean up and he is good to go. I donput a diaper on him at night with the underwear over them and it took a couple of days and he has learned to control it. It also helps if you don't let them fill up on drink just before bedtime.
Tip #2: Put them on a regular potty.
if u need to get a seat to put on the big potty do that. If you train them on a baby one your just gonna have to retrain them to use the big one. and they are just nasty.. I do keep one in my car for when I have to run a long errand or something like that. And for boys.. teach them to sit down first.. They will learn how to pee standing up later.
I started by taking Ezra every 30 minutes ( every kid is different) and to cut down on poop in the underwear accidents.. learn to read your child.. I know with ezra 15 to 20 minutes after he eats he is gonna poop... so i would time it right..
Tip # 3 Timing is everything!!
Learn to read your child. They don't know the sensation of having to pee or poop yet. It's something they have to learn. and in about a week they will! I ask him every 30minutes if he has to go. of coarse he says no but i make him go anyway and he always pees. sometimes I carried him kicking and screaming! But he always had to pee!

Tip#4 Make it fun!
I bought some stickers and a board at the All about Education store up town by the Black Chicken and when he pees and poops he gets to put a sticker on the board. And he loved it. Now that we are into our second week he doesn't care to much about doing it as much so he just pees and goes about his business. I still ask him if he wants one though. If they get board with the stickers you are using change them up!
Tip #5 It's such a pain to have to take shorts or pants off every thirty minutes! And it makes it a chore for everyone. Try some leg warmers to make sure your little guy or girl doesnt get cold. and they will be stylish too!

Tip # 6

It's harder to potty train if there are 12people trying to potty train your kid.

Everyone potty trains differently. So if your child has to be with someone else besides you, make sure you are both on the same page as to what the best way to potty train your little one is.. If your not you'll just confuse him or her and get them upset!

another way we made it fun was to put on this cool toilet handle.. we needed a new one anyway because the other one broke so I got this one because I thought Ezra would think it was fun to turn it to make it flush.. I was right he loves it! and lets not forget the Kandoo Kaddy on the left of the picture that holds his own big boy wipes! he loves it. it has frogs on it... RIBBIT!

Here is the potty chart. I let him put the stickers whereever he wanted instead of making him put them on the right days.. ( One battle at a time)

It has been a week and 5 days and he is doing very well no accidents and he is telling me when he needs to go.. I am very proud of him and I'm kinda proud of myself! (hehe). Happt potty training everyone. I hope this post helps you out!!

Sassy 6 Months!!

I took Elyza for her 6 month check up today. It went very well. (as well as it could go having 3 kids at the dr office!) She is 16.2 pounds and is 25 inches long. She is right where she should be for her age and is growing good.

Dr. said that she is way above average on her developement and that is why she is acting the way she is. He said we aer mistaking spoiled for independence and she is showing us who the boss is. Something he said she shouldn't be doing till she is 9 months old. What can I say she is a smart little lady!

She doesn't have any teeth yet which I am thankful for because I am nursing and she already tries to bite me!! So the longer it takes for her to get teeth the happier I will be!! I did order a teething necklace today for me to wear because she loves grabbing my necklaces so this one she can pull and bite on all she wants and it won't hurt her or me! I started giving her a bottle at night to help her sleep and it has helped. She still gets up twice but that is way better then what she was doing so I am happy about that! She loves to grab her feet and bite on them, she is getting better and better with sitting up she still falls over some. She can roll all over the place and she scoots herself in circles.. But she loves for mommy to hold her. I think that once she starts crawling she will be happier because she will be right with her brothers.. She loves them so much! Ethan is so protective of her. Ezra calls her "Monk Monk". He will walk through the house saying mommy where's Monk Monk.

We hope that everyone has a great weekend and a wonderful 4th of July!!

First Foods

After several weeks of Elyza not sleeping good at night. I saught out the advice from family & friends. My cousin suggested that maybe I start her on some baby food. Elyza is only 5 1/2 months old so I haven't started her on anything yet. I have 2 other children and I didn't start them on baby food until well after they were 7 months old. It just wasn't something they needed so I didn't want to push it on them. But since I had made a batch of babyfood the day before I thought I would give it a shot! Don't let the smile fool you... She didn't like it!

Well I'm not sure if it was that she didn't like it or if she just wasn't sure what to do with it.

Okay yeah! I don't think she liked it! Ha!
It didn't seem to help her sleep any better eighther.. I also tried to pump and give her a bottle before bed so that she was getting more but that didn't seem to do any good eighther.I am hoping I can get something worked out for her because it is getting very hard trying to take care of 3 little ones on 2 hours of sleep a night. I am open to suggestions from any veteran moms out in the blogging world!

Biesecker Baby Food!

Today is our first day of summer! So what better way to kick off the summer then with homemade baby food!! Elyza is only 5 months so she isn't eating any yet but we planted a garden and it is growing like crazy so I decided I would go ahead and start preparing the food and freezing it so it is ready when she is..

Today I started with some of our fresh zuchinni! Isn't it beautiful. In case anyone is interested.. All you do is cut your veggies.. steam them and then blend them up and freeze them in ice cube trays.. once they are frozen you can put them in freezer bags and keep them in the freezer and get them out as you need them! I can't figure out how to get pictures where I want them on here so they are out of order but you get the point. I hope that when she starts eating foods she loves it just as much as Ezra! I will be posting lots more about this later as I make more..

Since I'm Awake!!

Since I'm awake I decided to update my blog a little. It feels like forever since my fingers have grazed the keyboard to type something other the facebook posts or working on pictures. So much has happened I am not sure where to began.

I guess I should start with Brandon....

On May 5th 2011 Brandons dad lost a 2 1/2 year battle with Pulminary Fibrosis. He is greatly missed by everyone that knew him. I don't even know what else to say other then I miss him and wish I would of spent more time going to see him. Brandon is having a hard time so please keep him and his family in your prayers.

In other news in the Biesecker House...

Ethan has been playing soccer for the past few months and has gotten better and better! His team was undefeated!! Go Reeds Dragons!! They are practicing now to play in a tournament.. I hope they do good!

Mr. Ezra has been working on his potty training this week and oh boy has it been lots of fun! NOT! He is stubborn so we are taking things slow. But he will get there. We are getting ready to redo his room so I'm trying to plan for that. It's going to be quit the undertaking. Hopefully Brandon will help me.

Elyza is now almost 5 months old! I took her for her check up 2 weeks ago I think and she is 13.10 pounds and is 27 inches long. I can't believe it! She is a sweet girl.. She wants so much to be able to get down and play with her brothers but how do you explain to a 5 month old that she is to little to slip & slide? lol She laughs and smiles all the time and she loves her feet!

I am still breastfeeding and will continue to. She gets apple juice and water mixed together every other day. I have started trying her out on cereal and she seems to like it. I am not starting her on babyfood till this summer. She is still not sleeping through the night but she usually just wakes up to nurse and goes right back to sleep.

About a month ago I started a new business called Dolls & Dudes Custom T's I really enjoy it and I hope to get my name out there because I love it and I think that my designs are cute. But I could just be partial!! please check out my site at www.facebook.com/dollsanddudescustomts

Hope everyone has a great weekend!!

Super Mom!

From the very first moment I became a mom all I have ever wanted was to be the best mom I could possibly be. Now that I am a mom of 3 I am finding it harder and harder to try and be the "super mommy" I want to be.

It seems like by the time I get the house cleaned and everyone fed and everything done there is not enough time in the day to play with the kids like I want to or do special projects with them like I want to .. So what do I do? Pray for more time in the day? Stop doing the things around the house that need to be done? I just dont know how to use my time well I guess.

I read books to my kids everyday but I always feel so rushed, I don't ever just get to enjoy reading with them because I am always thinking of the next thing that needs to be done. So to all you SUPER MOMS out there.. how do you do it.. I don't want to just take care of my kids, I want to get to enjoy them and enjoy things with them...

THE GREATEST THING SINCE SLICED BREAD!

Miss Elyza is a silly little lady! She will not under no uncertain terms sleep flat on her back! So I have been laying her on her boppy at night and through out the night she slides down off of it until she slides all the way off and wakes up. or she slides off just enough it looks like she is hurting her neck. My friend Jennifer suggested that I get her the NEWBORN SLEEP AND PLAY ROCKER Don't let the name full you it hold up to 25 pounds! IT is $54 at babiesrus and it is AWESOME! I highly suggest this to new mommies and friends. it is light weight and folds for easy storage and travel. This will def be going with us to the beach this year instead of our huge pack and play!
