Tip#1: Start on a day that you can dedicate all your time to it.
I feel like starting on a saturday is a better day because there isn't anywhere you HAVE to be or anything you HAVE to go do. You don't have to put a diaper on them to go somewhere. You can dedicate your day to focusing on him/her. And yes it takes focus! I made a big effort not to go anywhere I didnt have to for a week other then to school and back for ethan. I would put him on the potty before we left and I put a towel in the carseat in case of an accident. I do not use pull ups. I think it is a waste of money and just confuses them.so far no accidents.. I do not put a diaper on him when he takes his nap eighther. I make sure he goes before he lays down. He has had 2 accidents but we just clean up and he is good to go. I donput a diaper on him at night with the underwear over them and it took a couple of days and he has learned to control it. It also helps if you don't let them fill up on drink just before bedtime.
Tip #2: Put them on a regular potty.if u need to get a seat to put on the big potty do that. If you train them on a baby one your just gonna have to retrain them to use the big one. and they are just nasty.. I do keep one in my car for when I have to run a long errand or something like that. And for boys.. teach them to sit down first.. They will learn how to pee standing up later.
I started by taking Ezra every 30 minutes ( every kid is different) and to cut down on poop in the underwear accidents.. learn to read your child.. I know with ezra 15 to 20 minutes after he eats he is gonna poop... so i would time it right..
Tip # 3 Timing is everything!!
Learn to read your child. They don't know the sensation of having to pee or poop yet. It's something they have to learn. and in about a week they will! I ask him every 30minutes if he has to go. of coarse he says no but i make him go anyway and he always pees. sometimes I carried him kicking and screaming! But he always had to pee!
Tip#4 Make it fun!
I bought some stickers and a board at the All about Education store up town by the Black Chicken and when he pees and poops he gets to put a sticker on the board. And he loved it. Now that we are into our second week he doesn't care to much about doing it as much so he just pees and goes about his business. I still ask him if he wants one though. If they get board with the stickers you are using change them up!

Tip # 6
It's harder to potty train if there are 12people trying to potty train your kid.
Everyone potty trains differently. So if your child has to be with someone else besides you, make sure you are both on the same page as to what the best way to potty train your little one is.. If your not you'll just confuse him or her and get them upset!
Here is the potty chart. I let him put the stickers whereever he wanted instead of making him put them on the right days.. ( One battle at a time)
